Gallenstein's Landscaping x Purple Monkey Project
Gnome Patrol
Spreading Smiles. Supporting local children. One yard at a time.
Throughout the month of August, Gallenstein’s Landscaping and Purple Monkey Project are teaming up to bring a little back-to-school fun to neighborhoods across Dayton, Ohio while raising money for an
incredible cause.
If you find a crew of landscaping gnomes in your front yard, congratulations, you've officially been GNOMED!
But don't worry... they're only here for 24 hours!
Now it's your turn to decide what happens next!

What is the Purple Monkey Project?

The Purple Monkey Project is a local nonprofit founded in memory of 10-year-old Reagan Vanoss, whose kindness, joy, and love for others continue to inspire our community every day.
The organization carries on Reagan's legacy by helping remove financial barriers that prevent children from participating in extracurricular activities, providing scholarships, supporting youth-focused organizations, and creating opportunities that allow local children to learn, grow, and thrive.
Every dollar raised through the Gnome Patrol stays right here in Southwest Ohio to help continue that mission. 100% of profits from this fundraiser will be donated directly to the Purple Monkey Project.
Why This Matters to
Gallenstein's Landscaping
This fundraiser is especially meaningful to our team because one of our crew members, Austin, is Reagan's brother.
Through Austin and his family, we've had the opportunity to witness the incredible impact the Purple Monkey Project has had on children and their families throughout our community.
When we began looking for a way to give back this summer, we wanted to create something that would bring neighbors together, make people smile, and support a cause close to one of our own.
The Gnome Patrol was born.

🏡 How the Gnome Patrol Works
Step 1: You've Been GNOMED!
Our Gnome Patrol secretly delivers a group of landscaping gnomes to a front yard somewhere in Kettering, Oakwood, or Centerville.
Each yard also receives instructions explaining how the fundraiser works and how to participate.
The gnomes will remain in the yard for approximately 24 hours before continuing their adventure.
Step 2: Choose Your Next Move
Once you've been gnomed, you have three ways to participate.
🌿 Move the Gnomes - $25
For a donation of $25, you can send the Gnome Patrol to another home within our service area.
Choose a friend. A family member. A neighbor. A coworker.
We'll secretly deliver the gnomes to their yard and keep the fun going.
🛡️ Purchase Gnome Protection - $50
Don't want the Gnome Patrol returning?
For $50, your home becomes an official No Gnome Zone for the remainder of August. Once protected, your yard is off-limits for the rest of the fundraiser.
💜 Make a Donation
Don't want to move the gnomes? You can still support the Purple Monkey Project by making a donation of any amount. Every contribution helps create more opportunities for local children.
Where Can The Gnome Patrol Go?
The Gnome Patrol currently serves:
✅ Kettering
✅ Oakwood
✅ Centerville
If you'd like to request a delivery outside these communities, please contact us. We'll do our best to accommodate special requests whenever possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the gnomes stay in my yard?
Approximately 24 hours.
Will the gnomes damage my lawn?
No. The gnomes are lightweight and carefully placed to avoid damaging your lawn or landscape. Having a gnome placed in your lawn is the equivalent to posting a yard sign.
What happens if I don't do anything?
Participation and donations are encouraged, but optional. After approximately 24 hours, our crew will retrieve the gnomes so they can continue spreading smiles throughout the community. If your yard has gnomes, someone made a donation and sent them to you.
Can businesses participate?
Absolutely! Businesses are encouraged to join the fun and support the Purple Monkey Project!
