Do I need to be home when you decorate my porch?

Accepted Answer

Nope! As long as our team can safely access the area being decorated, you do not need to be home during installation. We'll take care of the rest!

When will my porch be decorated?

Accepted Answer

Fall porch decorating begins Thursday, September 17 and runs through Saturday, October 24. We will complete installations every Thursday-Saturday. When booking, you'll be asked to select an available installation date that works best for you. Please keep in mind that all installation dates are weather permitting and may need to be adjusted in the event of inclement weather.

Can I request certain pumpkin colors or styles?

Accepted Answer

We do the hand-selecting for you! However, if you have a special request when it comes to your color palette: more traditional oranges, neutral whites, mixed colors, or something else, we're happy to accommodate whenever possible! Looking for something completely different? We're also happy to create a custom package to fit your vision.

Which package is right for my porch?

Accepted Answer

It really comes down to the size of your space and how much fall you want!Simple - 33 pumpkins: Great for smaller porches, stoops, apartments, condos, or a more traditional display.Signature - 49 pumpkins: A great fit for an average-sized front porch when you want a noticeably fuller, layered fall look.Statement - 66 pumpkins: Best for larger porches, wider entryways, or anyone who wants their fall display to make an impact.Showstopper - 93 pumpkins: Made for large spaces - or anyone firmly in the “more fall, please” camp. This is our fullest, most dramatic transformation.Still not sure? Send us a photo of your porch and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

Will my porch look exactly like the photos?

Not exactly... and that's part of what makes each one special! Every display is individually styled for the home, and because we're working with real pumpkins and seasonal materials, colors, shapes and sizes naturally vary. Our photos are intended to give you an idea of the overall fullness and style of each package rather than an exact replica.

Question 6

How long will my pumpkins last? How should I care for them?

Accepted Answer

Whole, uncarved pumpkins can often last several weeks to a few months under good conditions, but they're natural, perishable products, so there isn't a guaranteed lifespan. Warm temperatures, direct sun, excess moisture, freezing temperatures and wildlife can all shorten their life.To help your display last as long as possible, avoid moving or damaging the pumpkins, don't allow water to pool around them, and keep sprinklers from repeatedly soaking the display when possible. If you notice a pumpkin beginning to soften or rot, remove it promptly so it doesn't affect the pumpkins touching it.

What happens if one of my pumpkins rots or gets eaten by an animal?

Accepted Answer

Pumpkins, mums and other natural elements are perishable and exposed to the outdoors, so unfortunately Mother Nature gets a vote! Weather, wildlife, insects and other environmental conditions are outside of our control.Once your display has been installed, Gallenstein's Landscaping cannot guarantee the lifespan or condition of pumpkins or other live/natural materials and is not responsible for deterioration, rot, animal damage, theft or other damage occurring after installation.If something happens and you'd like us to replace or refresh part of your display for, reach out! Depending on availability and your request, we may be able to help for an additional charge.

What areas do you service?

Our fall porch decorating service is available throughout the Dayton area, with our primary service area including Kettering, Centerville and Oakwood. We can also accommodate many homes in Springboro, Beavercreek, Dayton and surrounding communities.Not sure if you're within our service area? Submit a request anyway! We'll take a look at your location and let you know if we're able to make the trip.

How far in advance should I book?

We offer just three fall porch decorating appointments per day Thursday-Saturday between September 16 and October 24. Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend reserving your preferred date as early as possible, especially if you'd like your porch decorated before a specific event or weekend.And yes... we decorate houses, apartments, condos, townhomes, stoops and smaller entryways, too. You don't need a huge front porch to give your entrance a little fall love!

What happens to my display at the end of the season?

Accepted Answer

You can either take care of removal yourself or let us come back and do the dirty work!Optional end-of-season removal is available for 20% of your original package price. We'll return to remove the pumpkins, hay/straw and other applicable natural materials from your display. Whenever possible, usable materials will be donated to local farms for animal use rather than simply being thrown away.Less waste. More purpose. More support for local.Removal is completely optional. You're always welcome to keep, donate, compost or dispose of your pumpkins yourself. Any purchased reusable décor, such as wreaths, lanterns or planters, is yours to keep.

Question 11

What is included with end-of-season porch cleanup, and when will it take place?

Accepted Answer

If you opt to select End-of-Season Porch Cleanup, we’ll return at the end of the season to remove the pumpkins and other perishable fall décor (unless you have specified otherwise)  that was included with your package. We’ll also sweep or blow off the areas where your fall décor was placed, leaving your porch neat and tidy as we welcome winter.Cleanups are scheduled on Mondays, and you’ll select your preferred date when placing your order:October 26 • November 2 • November 9 • November 16 • November 23 • November 30End-of-Season Porch Cleanup is available for an additional 20% of your package price (this does not include the price of any add-ons you may purchase). Please note: Cleanup services added after Monday, October 12 will be subject to an additional 5% late-addition fee.
